i was going to post the follow thread, but i've used up my posts for today, maybe you could do it for me?

ok folks, i'm going to attempt to write a comphrensive thread on this subject and update it over the next few days so i will be ready for my appeal hearing (which i heard at the memorial might be this coming monday).

i went to the library at mcmaster and checked out every book by grayson i could find.

It appears that Jehoiakim died during this siege and Jehoiachin ascended the throne of Judah. His rule ended, however, a mere three months and ten days later, when he surrendered to Nebuchadnezzar in 617 B.C.E. (in the month of Adar, according to a Babylonian chronicle). (2Ki 24:11, 12; 2Ch 36:9; Assyrian and Babylonian Chronicles, by A. Grayson, 1975, p. 102)

I still have that A.K. Grayson book that Sickoflies checked out too. On page 102 it reads EXACTLY like this (verse 12): He encamped against the city of Judah and on the second day of the month Adar he captured the city (and) seized (its) king.

This is the only place I see that the month of Adar was spoken of on this page. A average JW would read the above highlighted area and ASSUME that their comments were verified in this book of A.K. Graysons.

Another example of DELIBERATE DECEPTION!!!

New WT publication encourages "questioning"

many here have been reproved or disfellowshiped for asking questions about the bible and the jw interpretation of it.. after encouraging the asking of questions, one of the newest wt publications states: "others worry that asking questions could lead to shame or embarrassment.

and some decide that such questions are best left to religious leaders and teachers.

that quote is found in the first chapter of the new publication that all congregations will begin studying each week at their congregation book study.

Sickoflies Elders told him when asked what are the charges? "apostacy" they said, "Why because I have a question??" They said, "No, because you have too MANY questions!!" What a JOKE!!!

I went to the library at McMaster and checked out every book by Grayson I could find. However, only the one book the society quoted from had any relevent information, but the information I obtained is priceless. I'm going to type out what I've found in the book.

Assyrian and Babylonian Chronicles
By: A. K. Grayson

Pg.1 Paragraph 3 - Talking about the amazing completeness of the Babylonian records of which their are over 10,000 artifacts avaible for study -
"Of qual importance with the annals and kings list are the "diaries". The diaries were records of each day's activities during a campaign and were dictated personally by the king."
Pg.1 Paragraph 4 - Talking about how the records reflect well upon the Old Testament.
"In the books of the Old Testament historiography reaches unprecedented height. The clarity and beauty of style found in the acient Hebrew narratives is unique among historical documents from the ancient Near East."

Pg. 10 - This basicly describes the time peroid of the first seven Chronicles which starts at 747 B.C. with the reign of Nabunasir and goes until the Persian conquest of Babylon in (his words) "539 B.C."

Pg. 17 on Chronicle 2 "This portion of the Neo-Babylonian Chronicle Series covers the peroid from the accession of Nabopolassar (626 B.C.) to his third regnal year (623 B.C.).

Pg. 18 on Chronicle 3 "The peroid of time covered by this chronicle extends from the tenth to the seventeenth regnal year of Nabopolassar (616-609 B.C.)

**** Pg. 19 on Chronicle 4 "The narration of Chronicle 4 begins where Chronicle 3 ended which is the eighteenth year of Nabopolassar (608 B.C.) and continues to his twentieth year (606 B.C). There are virtually no breaks in the tablet." Note, the author makes speical mention of the completeness of the documents from this era. The chronicle speaks of raids and has elaborate records including dates of many Babylonian conquests!

Pg. 19 on Chronicle 5 "Chronicle 5 picks up the narrative at the point it was left by Chronicle 4, that is the twenty-first year of Nabopolassar (605 B.C.), and continues until the tenth year of Nebuchadnezzar II (595 B.C.)." This document speaks of furth conquests by the Babylonians in Egypt.

Pg. 20 on Chronicle 6 "This text concerns the third regnal uear of Neriglissar (557 B.C.)"

**** Pg. 21 on Chronicle 7 "The Nabonidus Chronicle is a narration of events beginning with the accession of Nabonidus in Babylon (556 B.C.) and ending sometime after the capture of Babylon by Cyrus (539 B.C.)."

Notice that there is NO break at all in the narriative from the start of Chronicle 1 to 7, the documents consist of almost daily records of everything that happen right up to the capture of Babylon in 539 B.C. I'm heading home now, and I'm going to search the CD for all the leaders and dates mentioned in the above pages. If the society has ever even used ONE of the dates then they are screwed. I am also going to upload the above mentioned pages in JPG or PDF format soon.

i don't.... yesterday, my mother finally asked me if i would consider attending the memorial.

i just rather chuckled... "no, i don't think so.

" after a pause, i decided on an additional comment.

thanks for that, ther is a lot to take in and work out!! how do u guys feel about jehovah now?? i felt when i went to church of ireland i was so lost were now im in the truth i do feel a lot of things have been answered and make sense!! i suppose ther are plenty of other areas i need to research!!

PLEASE ROCKKCHICK, research BEFORE you make a decision. You owe it to Jehovah and his son to make a thorough examination of ALL the facts. The scriptures say to "Make sure of ALL things." Once you are baptised you are no longer free to ask sincere questions of the Societys teachings. Many here, myself included, have found ourselves with a "apostate" ( I am not disfellowshipped yet, though) label ONLY for asking SINCERE, HEARTFELT questions. If you have too many, they will get rid of you. Most witnesses will tell you, you can not be disfellowshipped for asking questions. But we are a living testimony to the fact that you must accept the Societys opinion regardless if it adds up or not. Or they will disfellowship you! Please, read my story if you haven't already, and you will see how just one question of 607 can change everything. Also, regarding Jehovah. Many of us have NOT "thrown the baby out with the bathwater". We still study, meditate daily on God's word and have a close relationship with Jehovah and his Son. Still others have been so angry at the deception, that they have lost all faith. But we are not to judge ANYONE. We just need to show them and each other LOVE, and leave the rest up to our Creator.

Dear Rockkchick,

Are you asking me about 607 and what it means?? I am sorry, I am not quite following what you are asking. Please clarify. If you ARE inquiring about it, I would be most happy, as anyone here will, to help you understand it. I have spent a whole year on this subject. The year 607 is crucial to the Societys teaching because it is what 1914 hinges on. Let me know if you want to know more.

New to the forum - want to introduce myself

hi my name is lillian and i am posting for my first time.

i was a witness along with my husband and two children for 12 years and gave in my letter of disasociation about a year and a half ago.

i have struggled with the guilt of bringing my family in contact with the witnesses (i have always been a bible searcher) and i am only coming to terms with this recently.. i now consider myself a born again believer in christ jesus and read my bible daily to check and see what is true.

Thank you for your post! And WELCOME!! We are glad to have you here. What an experience. I cannot imagine praying at the Kingdom Hall and getting that "evil presence" feeling. It must have really scarred you! For me, I will never forget the night I was digging into what the whole pyramid thing was about and how Russell used it. When I discovered what pyramidology was, and how it was steeped in spiritism I had goosebumps all over, and the hair on the back of my neck stood up!! I will NEVER forget that feeling of something being TERRIBLY wrong. Again, I experienced those same feelings when I discovered that the Society used a translation ( Johannes Greber) in making the New World Translation that was made by the help of the demons. And the Society knew the Author of the book openly acknowledged using the spirits in making their translation. (For any who challenge me on this point, I will be most happy to direct you to the articles from the Societys OWN literature.) Anyway, we are glad you are here, and glad you and your family are happily serving God!
